17 Months

8/23/15 Micah has gone pee pee in the potty a few times, and he has sat on the potty saying he needed to go about 30 times....he then gets up and claps for himself (so cute). Afterward, we have to convince him to put his diaper back on for about..oh 20 minutes or so. He has a Llama Llama book that talks about the potty, so every time we get to that page he shrieks and runs over to his potty while pointing at his diaper (his signal to us that he needs it off....NOW!). He still is Mr. Social and loves to give everyone he encounters his very charming wave and smile. He says "clock," "bird," "ball," "mama," "dada," "car," "dog," and then of course makes his animal sounds "rawr (tiger/lion/dinosaur)" "mew mew mew' (cat), "ppfff (dog...obviously), "bzzzz"(bee), "ssssss" (snake), "Vrooo" (car). He especially loves to repeat "mamadadamamadadamamadada." <3  He LOVES to climb, go to the park, play at the beach, play with the My Gym instructors, play drums and guitar, and play with his sand and water table. His favorite thing (after milky, of course) is reading books. He could literally do it all day (and sometimes it feels like we do!). He is still sleeping (mostly) through the night and taking short naps during the day. Any time there is not music on he demands we turn it on by raising the roof (or Beyonce-ing) by the speaker. Recently, he has really loved to play hide and seek with us. Sometimes he is a great hider (under the couch cushions where we can't see him, and others times is a very cute hider (hiding just his face-I can't see you, you can't see me).

8/30/15 Micah is in the midst of a growth spurt and is suddenly ravenous, eating everything on his tray and even asking for seconds. Makes this mama so happy to see him enjoying his yummy plant foods! The other day he had two green smoothie "fudgesicles' after he finished his lunch! His language development has also skyrocketed in the last few days and he's talking a lot more and excitedly saying the words he knows from his books ("ball," "clock," "bird" etc) over and over.  He loves to do the motions to The Wheels On The Bus and can sing it with us all day long. He is getting so good at communicating what he wants and he gives us the cutest cheesy grin when we understand what he is asking for. He recently convinced mama to get him a giant monkey stuffed animal from Costco and has been walking around cuddling and dancing with it. He also fed it diner tonight in his high chair....so cute. He LOVES the beach and can play in the sand and water for hours.
