8 Months

10/22 Micah is still sleeping on his tummy which has helped him stay down for longer period of time but he has developed a knack for waking up right when dinner is ready! He wants to join too! He is still enjoying solids, his favorites seem to be sweet potato wedges and strawberries. He has gotten really good at feeding himself and even when mama tries to feed him something from a spoon he grabs the handle and wants to do it himself. Such a big boy! Tonight when daddy got home from work he snuck up on him and Micah was so excited to see him, he had a giant smile plastered on his face and couldn't stop doing his excited dance (he kicks his feet and bounces up and down-so, very cute!).

10/23 At 7 months Micah weighs 18.4 (25th percentile) lbs and is 28 1.4 (85th percentile) inches long! <3

10/25 Yesterday Micah was extra fussy and drooly and mama guessed that he might be teething (for real this time!) She felt in his mouth and felt a little tooth trying to come through and sure enough this morning he has a little white nub of a tooth poking through! His first tooth on the bottom, front (left)! He loves  broccoli, zucchini, strawberries, avocado, and sweet potatoes but is still working out if he likes oatmeal, quinoa. blueberries, or banana.

10/28 Micah cried when daddy left for work today! So cute, they are good buddies these days! Micah loves to watch daddy play the guitar and always gets in fits of giggles when daddy tickles him and kisses his cheeks and neck. Mama and Micah went to Treats in the Streets in the Orange Circle today!

10/31 Happy Halloweenie! Daddy, Mama, and Micah dressed up in their matching costumes and went to Grandma Lind's house to help pass out candy to the trick or treaters. Micah loved seeing all the kids and parents comes to the door and was wiggling his little arms and legs with excitement all night!

Micah has been blessed with a plethora of fun, colorful, sound-making toys that could keep a baby entertained for hours... but his favorite toy? HIS SOCKS! It is a rare occasion that you catch our little guy with more than one sock on. Daddy caught him sock-handed!

But, Micah is definitely a fan of music! He loves listening to daddy play guitar, especially when he gets to sing.

..but he's not just a singer, he's a strummer and a drummer!

11/9 Micah got some much needed Auntie Cori time at church! He loves his auntie!

11/10 Today Micah had his first slice of frozen appple & he ate lots of oatmeal off of his spoon! He likes to help mama hold the spoon and today was the first time he took more than a couple bites! Mama had scooped some oatmeal right onto his tray so he could feed himself and once his frozen apple slice started to melt he dipped his apple in the oatmeal and sucked it off...such a smart boy!
Micah loves to giggle, is getting really good at sitting unassisted, loves to watch daddy play guitar, does "conductor hands" all day, still kicks his legs and shakes his arms when he gets super excited, loves his auntie Cori, loves to sing head, shoulders, knees, and toes, itsy bitsy spider, and open shut them. He's super ticklish and giggles when kissed on his neck and in the bath when you wash his arm pits and feet. Today we all were laying in bed and mama put her legs in the air while saying "you put your legs in the air and then shaaaaake them!" and Micah couldn't stop laughing.

Micah is getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth, a precursor to crawling!

11/15 Micah's first trip to a museum! James had his HPRMA board retreat at the Getty Museum and we all went to take a tour and check out the views, art and gardens. There was a great meal too. Micah really liked being out and about; he thoroughly enjoys people-watching.

He is starting to mimic a little so when mama starts laughing he will too. Everyday his little personality is emerging more and more. He loves to snuggle, and when he wakes up in bed in between mama and daddy he will smile at us at then take turns snuggling each of us, back and forth, back and forth. He looks from daddy to mama and reaches for both of our faces; he is definitely at his happiest when our little family is all together! It is so heart melting! We just love him more than words can express!

Micah has decided the fun swing Aunt Tammy lent him is much more fun when he is sitting up. Thank goodness it has a tight buckle. What a little daredevil he's turning into!

He's also decided this month that he doesn't need Daddy to hold his bottle for him. Much prefers to hold it himself thank you very much!

9/27
Micah waved "bye bye" for the first time today! Mama was leaving the house to get her eyebrows done and after she had nursed him and kissed him goodbye she started walking to the door. While her back was turned, Micah waved at her! Daddy said "he just waved bye bye!" and mama thought that it couldn't have been on purpose but she turned around and said "bye bye buggy" and he did it again! Our child is a genius! <3

 Our first family photo shoot! Micah bear was so very tired during the entire shoot but he was a trooper!

At Micah's 6 month check up he was 17.9 lbs (55th percentile), 28 inches (95th percentile), and his head was 17.5 inches (80th percentile!) His doctor said he was "very advanced" because he was very tuned into what she was saying and doing and kept blocking her attempts to poke and prod him with the stethoscope and other instruments. 

10/12 Bonnie's Birthday party! We got to see lots of family today and Micah got to meet some family members for the first time (including Aunt Bonnie herself!)

10/13 Mama and Micah went to Pretend City for the first time today. It was Halloween themed and Micah dressed up like a skeleton. We met up with our mommy-and-me group and it turns out that Micah matched two of his little buddies! Micah had a blast playing with his friends and putting all the new toys in his mouth (mama had to let go of all her germa-phobe tendencies for the day!)  Micah has started a new and very silly tongue move where he sticks out his tongue like a little lizard and then chews on it. Daddy, of course, got it on video! Micah has been sleeping on his tummy lately (thanks daddy!) and is now able to put himself back to sleep more often. He still wakes up as soon as mama lays down to go to sleep because he wants to come in bed with mama and daddy! He continues to wake us up in the morning by smacking us in the face at the same time and yelling. :)

10/14 Daddy had to get media for a Halloween themed Mommy Matters Class at St. Joseph Hospital so mama and her meetup group went and sang songs and played. Micah got to wear his pumpkin costume and takes cute photos with his friends. ABC news was there too! Maybe we'll see Micah on TV?!

10/16 Micah's television debut! Daddy (being the amazing PR professional he is) got media for St. Joe's and Micah got a close-up!

10/18 Halloween Spooktakular. Mama's Halloween-love-fest continued and Micah dressed up as a little bat!

10/19 We met up with Anabelle, Maggie, and Anthony  for the Fall Faire in Newport Beach, ate lunch at Whole Foods, and walked around Fashion Island. Micah just loves his Uncle Anthony, he couldn't stop staring at him and smiling and when he held him he laid his little head on his shoulder! So sweet! <3
